Dos Vientos school-crossing safety

A Dos Vientos parent said she's been requesting crosswalk and signal improvements at Via Las Brisas since May 2024; two people were killed on the corridor in 2025 and the crossing guard was removed, leaving kids crossing five lanes of 45 mph traffic. She asked the commission to formally recommend adding the corridor to the ATP before it's finalized.

A Dos Vientos resident and neighbor of Betts thanked the city for the Via Rio upgrades but said drivers still blow through; she questioned why the Via Las Brisas bike lane project ranks 27th and described running across the street with her children at 45-60 mph traffic.
